When in London take a trip to east…

View Tube, The Greenway, Newham, Stratford, East London

www.theviewtube.co.uk

Take a tube to Stratford (Central and Jubilee lines) then change into Docklands light railway 1 stop to Pudding Mill Lane. From Pudding Mill Lane exit the station, turn left and follow the signposting to Greenway (and blue hoardings) and you’ll arrive to the View Tube. Café is open 9am to 5pm, as is the view tube. If you feel sporty you can hire a bicycle (GBP6 1 hour, GBP8 2 hours and also if you like a bike guide GBP35 per hour) to explore the area. They also have a souvenir shop and art exhibitions. When I visited the view tube was closed as they had a function, but it was still worth going there for the great views of the stadium, ArcelorMittal Orbit, buildingsite and nice community feeling.

In Stratford go and check the Westfield Stratford City – The biggest urban shopping centre in Europe. They also have a good viewing platform…and it is seriously nice shopping experience. Plenty of global street food outlets and a really energetic, stylish feel.

For comparison and with more East End feel go and check also the older and smaller Stratford centre.
